PPR's Annual Earnings Leap, Glen Senk in Line for Urban CEO Spot

-PPR saw net profits rocket 28.0 percent last year to 685 million euros, or $898.7 million.

-The board of Urban Outfitters Inc. is expected to name Glen Senk chief executive officer after reporting flat earnings for the fourth quarter.

-With a late-winter freeze chilling demand for spring apparel, February same-store sales sagged, but department stores delivered the goods.

-Carrefour, the world's second-biggest retailer after Wal-Mart, on Thursday said net income last year reached 1.86 billion euros, or $2.34 billion.

-Hordes of bold-faced names poured into the Cunard Building, where Vanity Fair editor in chief Graydon Carter was being honored for his environmental work.
