Linea Nervenkitt designer, Dr. Jane Ko, was working on her PhD in Neurobiology at Harvard when she first discovered her love of fine jewelry. She found that after hours in the lab researching molecular brain development, the most soothing activity was to nurture her creative side by working with precious metals and stones. While not the most typical genesis for a career in fashion, Jane's background in organic structures greatly influenced the aesthetic of her jewelry collection. Her signature "drippy chain" look, which brought her acclaim from magazine editors and then won her the Fashion Group International "Rising Star" 2004 Award, brings to mind looping strands of DNA. Earrings with clusters of beads of turquoise and coral bring are reminiscent of clusters of cells. In fact, the name Linea Nervenkitt, comes from the archaic German term for brain cell. Enjoy this inventive jewelry collection from a new designer poised for greatness. No lab coats or goggles required.
