FALL 2006: THE REVIEWS
A Good Coating - Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Burberry Prorsum
Terrific coats, ranging from trenches to military greatcoats to scallop-edged furs were at the heart of some of the standout collections for fall.
Fancy Free - Max Mara, Moschino Cheap & Chic, Anna Molinari, Antonio Marras
All sorts of themes were in play as the Milan collections continued, from a mix of grunge with classic suits to charmingly campy looks to poetic, sepia-colored pieces.
The Power of Understatement
Milan's new bent toward pared-down elegance trickled into Bally, Schumacher and Piazza Sempione's fall collections.
In Brief - Pollini By Rifat Ozbek, Belstaff, Luisa Beccaria, Alberto Biani, Maurizio Pecoraro
For fall, black astrakhan jackets and brocade shift dresses in Ottoman prints were a fun and sophisticated romp.
